CO-RO Food, a 70-year-old Danish juice company, has built its new plant in Guangdong province.
Nils Ronnow, president of CO-RO Food China, said that China has become the second largest market for CO-RO Food. The company invested about CNY100 million in this new plant in Guangdong, aiming at an annual production capacity of 1.5 million cases.
CO-RO Food makes concentrated soft drinks and ready-to-drink soft drinks around the world; while it currently only makes concentrated drinks in China.
Li Yong, marketing director for CO-RO Food China, revealed to local media that CO-RO Food's highly concentrated fruit juice has gained 60% market share in China. Over recent years, Chinese consumers' attitudes towards drinks have been changing and the market share of carbonated beverages is declining. At the same time, the market share of fruit juice continues to increase and the company's annual growth rate maintains a 20% increase.
