Chinese supermarket operator Yonghui revealed that the company is preparing for two new outlets in Shanghai, and they are expected to open at the end of December 2013.
According to Weng Haihui, vice president of Yonghui, both of the two outlets are finishing construction. If the approval process goes smoothly, they will start operations at the end of this year.
Shanghai is reportedly the last first-tier Chinese city to have a Yonghui supermarket. Prior to this, the company opened its first store in Guangzhou on November 20.
Based on information from Yonghui's official website, its two new supermarkets in Shanghai are located at Red Sun Business Plaza in the Baoshan and Huijing Life Square in Huangpu.
Apart from leasing stores for supermarkets, Yonghui will establish a joint venture in Shanghai for fresh food and vegetable market operation. Details for this plan have not yet been released.
