According to reports in Chinese local media, Hema's industrial base recently started construction in Shanghai's Pudong New Area.
Meanwhile, Hema's headquarters is also located in Pudong, Shanghai.
Hema's industrial base is expected to put into use in 2020 and it would achieve annual operating revenue of over CNY10 billion. The industrial base will serve various Hema stores in Shanghai.
Statistics show that in January 2016, Hema opened its first store in Shanghai. Since then, the brand has entered 23 cities around China and it had over 220 stores by March 2020.
During China's epidemic period, Hema saw business increase both online and offline. Its online traffic was nearly three times of that in the same period of last year and its online order ratio increased from 50% to 80%.
Hema is a new retail platform driven by data and technology. It aims to create community one-stop new retail experience to consumers.
