According to reports in Chinese local media, Chen Lei, general manager of Xianyu Business Division, has departed Alibaba.
Public files show that Chen is the 422nd employee of Alibaba and he led the development of various Taobao content products. In July 2019, Alibaba Group announced organizational restructuring and Chen was transferred to Xianyu Business Division, reporting to Tmall president Jiang Fan. Prior to that, he was senior director of Taobao live streaming and content ecology division.
Xianyu is Alibaba's C2C used goods trading platform. Statistics show that over the past 12 months, Xianyu's GMV has reached over CNY200 billion and its online sellers reached 30 million. So far, the platform has 90 million monthly active users.
