China Resources Retail (Group), the retail subsidiary of China Resources Enterprise, has launched its first health and beauty retail brand VivoPlus, and the first two chain stores have been respectively opened at Yau Ma Tei and Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong.
China Resources' new VivoPlus stores sell pharmaceutical and beauty products similar to those sold by Watsons and Mannings. The stores reportedly provide healthcare, personal care, skin care, and cosmetics products of more than 5,000 varieties.
Simon Mak, general manager of VivoPlus, told local media that China Resources Retail (Group) has confidence in the prospect of Hong Kong's health and beauty retail industry. It will invest over HKD500 million in the marketing of this new brand and it plans to introduce the brand to the Chinese mainland market in 2011, aiming to become the first choice among health and beauty stores for customers.
In addition, China Resources Retail (Group) revealed that it plans to open eight additional VivoPlus stores in Hong Kong before the end of 2010. The sites of these new stores will not be limited to tourist areas.
