McDonald's To Open 200 New Restaurants In China In 2011

The American fast food giant McDonald's has announced it will open 175 to 200 new restaurants in China in 2011 and it will hire 50,000 new employees across China.

According to information revealed by McDonald's, most of these new employees will be frontline staff. In addition, over 1,000 restaurant manager trainee positions will directly open to newly-graduated university students this year.

The fast food company said that as the major base for the training and development of McDonald's Chinese employees, McDonald's Hamburger University in China plans to invest CNY250 million by 2015 to provide related trainings for more than 5,000 local management talents.

Since its entry into the Chinese market 21 years ago, McDonald's has developed 1,300 chain restaurants with about 70,000 employees in this marketplace. Apart from the planned 175 to 200 new restaurants in 2011, it intends to increase the total number of its sites in China to 2,000 by 2013.
